You can’t pick and choose where you want to lose fat, it has to come off all over.

Walking/running only tones the buttocks in my experience and you don’t burn additional calories by going faster, you only take less time.

It’s murder on your skeletal system to run, I would walk it.

If you don’t want to run, I would suggest walking at a fast pace on a treadmil, and on an incline. I walk at 4.7 mph on a 15 incline (the highest my treadmil will go) and in one hour I have burned about 900 calories….I alternate doing this with running. It’s amazing how toned your whole body will get!

A fast steady walk is a whole lot better for toning your legs, and is a lot less strainuous on your skeletal system. As for your mid section, try doing a set of sit-ups while you are causually watching TV. I do these during commercials. It breaks up the boredom of exercise, but you still get your workout on your mid section. Set a goal to do a set number of sit-ups during each commercial break in 1 hour or 30 minute setting. Increase your goals daily or every other day, and soon that mid section will tone up nicely.
