cut out meat, and most fats, eat a lot more vegetables a day, and make sure you eat breakfast, and have 5-6 small meals, a day, eat meat 3-4 times a week

cut out grains too, breads and pastas, refined sugars, and white flour, are all bad. lots of veggies, really

Same as for anyone of any age.

Eat fewer calories and increase your exercise.

    It’s just that simple.

    Put the fork down

Swimming is a great way to loose weight because it uses most of the muscles in the body doing it. Joining a local swimming club and even just going once a week you’ll feel loads better. I’ve been going for only 2 weeks and already feel better :) x

Well you are young, so you should be able to get on track fast. Do 20 minutes of cardio, with some toning exercises, at least 45 mins daily or 4 times a week. Once you do that, you’ll feel much better =)

  7. common sense says:

Keep up with the walking and jogging, cardio is what will melt the fat off of you, whereas crunches, sit ups, etc tone and firm you.
Swimming is a great way to burn fat as well, and drink only water, no sugared drinks…think about it one soda has 150 calories…one coke a day over the course of a week is over 1000 calories!!

Clean up your diet alot; eat foods rich in protein like tuna, grilled chicken, etc. Eat salad with a small cup of dressing on the side and just dip your salad in it when you take a bite. This causes you to eat less dressing but you wont notice. Eat healthy breakfast foods like yogurt with fruit and granola, special K red berries, etc. Also, cut out all soda/sugary drinks and start carrying a water bottle around. Drinking water is a sure way to lose excess weight. Drink fruit smoothies too. Keep walking & jogging; cardio is a good way to lose weight. You can still eat dessert every once in a while just don’t overdo it.

Stay away from fast food. Drink plenty of water, not soda pop. Stay away from high calorie snacks such as candy bars and chips.

It sounds like you’re on a great track with the exercise, keep it up! Just choose reasonable eats. I know, I feel your pain – no burgers or pizza? That’s stinks.

    Best of luck!

    whats wrong with 148lbs
be warned exercise builds muscle which weighs more then fat so dont always look on the scales to determine your weight
swimming is good but increases your appitate
just eat better and keep up a bit of exercise
cutting out wheat helps but dont focus on the number on the scales

The best way is to keep fit by doing exercises, & eating healthy!
Make sure you DO not starve yourself by not eating, as many teens do. You won’t lose weight if you do that, & it puts a strain on your body. Set a goal of how many pounds you want to lose, make sure it’s reasonable.

    Hope I helped!
    Best of luck!

up and downs? you mean modified squats.
anyway, as a boxer iknow people who have had to cut about 20 lbs. in two weeks . and it can be done. 45 minuts of running, 250 pushups and sit ups(each) every day, 250 jump squats as well and you will be ripped by the time school starts.

  13. tater bug says:

all you can do is eat healthy foods and exercise-
dont go on a fad diet, that wont do you any good. dont starve yourself, either. just avoid icky, processed foods, and dont forget breakfast!
just eat raw foods with a lot of protein and vitamins, and stay away from sodium. exercise every other day.
the important thing is that you will be healthy. and you’ll lose weight and look great, too!

drink at least a qt, of water.

To lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume. The more vigorous an activity, the more calories burned. To lose 1 pound, you must burn 3500 excess calories (500 calories per day over the course of a week). If you reduce your calorie intake by 300 calories a day and increase your activity to burn 200 extra calories per day, you can expect a steady weight loss of approximately one or two pounds per week.

You need to figure out what your BMI is because it will determine whether or not you need to lose weight or gain it. Being that you are 16, 5 ft 2 in, and 148 pounds your BMI is around 27.1, putting you in the overweight range for your height. You need to be at least 93 to 136 pounds to have a BMI in the the healthy weight range–http://kidshealth.org/teen/food_fitness/dieting/weight_height.html# and since you weigh 148 pounds you need to lose about 12 of them to be in the normal weight category. It’s not a lot and you’ll lose it quickly if you stay motivated.

The most important thing when trying to lose weight is to never diet; just make changes to how much you eat and what you eat.& –for that page I put in your weight, age, height and how much you exercise (30 to 60 minutes) and it gave me how much you need to eat daily from all food groups. Every day for someone your size and age you need to consume at least 2200 calories a day and it gives you tips to help you get those food groups daily.

Fitness experts say that teens need to workout for at least 60 minutes a day doing moderate to vigorous activity. I say that’s bullsh’it. I suggest working out every other day, 3 times a week, (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and take Saturday and Sunday off or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and take Sunday off. The possibilities are endless), for 20-30 minutes. When you first start working out do at least 10-15 minutes and work your way up. Fitness experts never tell you that 10 minutes a day will keep the pounds away. A good workout plan would be:

    -Warm-up
-Aerobic exercise/strength training (Running and lifting weights)
-Flexibility training (Yoga, it’ll keep your body from looking boyish)
    -Cool down

Nothing major until you have built your stamina; try doing things like swimming, jumping rope, bicycling, etc; pretty much any type of activity that involves using every muscle in your body. As long as you burn more calories that you eat then the weight will drop off fairly quick. Here’s a calorie calculator on different activities remember they’re estimates but if you search for a certain one then you’ll be able to find the right number of calories–

Remember that it’s not a lot of weight and that it’s easy to keep off, you just need to stay motivated. Also, make sure that you take a trip to the doctor so that you know your physical activity endurance.

    I hope I helped(:
Good luck and have fun with it; exercising isn’t that bad. You’ll feel good about yourself and the guys will definitely appreciate it when school starts :D

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
