    You need to address this with your doctor.

    My understand is that with overweight individuals, the overall gain will just be less during pregnancy than other women. In all the info the docs have given me, it was very clear that “Now is NOT the time to start a dieting program.”

    Until you can speak with your doc, eat a balanced diet, get in 20-30 minutes of walking (don’t overdo it,) and drink plenty of water.

    It’s best if you don’t lose any weight while you’re pregnant. Just try not to gain a whole lot more. Your doctor will tell you how much you should gain.

    Right now I wouldn’t worry about losing weight. Unless you are very obese and your doctor suggests you lose weight, I wouldn’t even think about losing weight as this can have negative impacts on your baby.

    I would highly encourage you to talk with your doctor first to decide if you need to lose weight during the pregnancy, or if it would be better to wait until afterwards.

    Yes, you cannot ‘diet’ while pregnant. But my friend who had GD had quit sugar. I had no idea what all had sugar in it, poor thing. Anyway, she actually lost weight. If you are overweight then it is safe to lose some weight. I would suggest just exercising low impact, like exercise bike or walking, and snack on a lot of fruit and veggies to help keep that full feeling. They say to eat an apple before a meal because it will fill you up.

    Don’t start a diet, but you can eat healthier in general and walk some. I’m expecting my second, and have been trying to eat more fruits and vegetables and fewer junk food snacks.

    Just try and eat healthy….lots of fruit and vegetables and lay off the junk food like lollies, chocolate & fried foods. Everything in moderation. Also, walking helps too.
