nothing to do with weight loss it is a chemical imbalance caused by the weight loss they may have to change your medication to something stronger
I don’t know about the weight loss having an effect, it might. I do know that if you aren’t eating enough it effects to absorption of the medication so you might not be absorbing all of it.
it is a possibility that is what it is =only your Dr will know for sure =make that appointment and congrats on the weight loss
First of all, your question is not a stupid question. Secondly, I wanted to applaud you for having a good attitude about taking care of your body.
I’m not sure if your weight loss would have anything to do with how your medication works. Since you have been on the Effexor XR for the past 4 years, your body may have built up a tolerance to it. It might be time to change the dosage, or switch to a different medication.
I have been taking anti-depressants for almost 4 years now. I have switched between several ones. I know eventually I will find the correct medication and dosage to help me. Right now I am being as patient as I can, and visiting my doctor regularly.
The best advice I can give you is tell your doctor about how you have been feeling. He or she can come up with a solution, and you’ll be feeling better soon. I hope I have helped you some. God bless you!
it has nothing to do with losing weight, except the doseage may need to be changed. or yourmeds may need to be changed to something different. your doctor will be able to see. you are lucky, most people gain weight on antidepressives. i would check with your doctor, you may just need to add a nother med to go with the one you already take.
It probably has more to do with your current diet. I assume you’re eating “diet” foods, tiny meals, very little protein, etc. A poor diet or dieting with packaged diet foods have more effect on your mood than drugs. If you’ve been eating a lot of Lean Cuisine or Slim Fast, that’s the problem. Garbage in, garbage out.
“There is no doubt that food can make us feel good. Food has the ability to alter the production or release of neurotransmitters. This mood-food relationship is explained by neurotransmitters, which are chemical messengers transmitting our thoughts and actions to the brain. The food we eat affects the neurotransmitters, thus changing our moods.”
